The Striker Portfolio

The Striker Portfolio

Jacket description...
A man watches the sky. Centered in his binoculars, small as a fly, is a supersonic jet fighter. Within minutes he sees it plunge sixty thousand feet to the ground. He reports briefly to London: "The fly fell down."

The man is Quiller, shadow executive of the "Bureau," hero of Adam Hall's two previous espionage novels, The Quiller Memorandum and The 9th Directive.
His mission: to find out why thirty-six "Striker" swing-wing aircraft have crashed, killing their pilots--and destroying any evidence of sabotage.
     As always, Quiller works alone.
As always, the action of the novel is savage, swift-paced and brilliantly detailed, whether it is an escape across a minefield in the dead of night, the operations of a nightmare secret police organization in East Germany, or a terrifying high-speed duel between two cars on the Autobahn, each trying to make the other crash at 100 mph.
To the file containing The Quiller Memorandum and The 9th Directive, Adam Hall now adds a chilling and breathtaking successor--The Striker Portfolio.

How it starts...

Chapter 1 - The Fly

     He pointed up the road.
